PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Because the FRP sand pipe has such advantages as great corrosion resistance, food-grade performance, light weight, high strength, high conveying capacity, easy installation, short construction period and low comprehensive investment, it has become the best choice for the chemical industry and water conveyance project and it also boasts the following merits that are incomparable by other metal pipes:

【Great heat and cold resistance】

When operating at -30℃, it still shows desirable tenacity and high strength and can work for a long term when working from -50℃ to 80℃. Resin made from special formula can also work over 110℃.

【High abrasion resistance】

FRP pipe shows wonderful abrasion resistance. Tests show that after putting water containing a large amount of slurry, sand and stone into a pipe and then rotating it for 300,000 times for the rotation and abrasion contrast test, inspect the wearing depth of the pipe’s inner wall and the results are shows as follows.The wearing depth of steel pipe coated with tar and porcelain oil is 0.53mm; the steel pipe with surface-hardening treatment, 0.48mm; FRP steel pipe, 0.21mm;So it can be seen that the abrasion resistance of FRP pipe is very high.

【Excellent heat preservation】

Owing to a lower heat conductivity coefficient, FRP shows excellent heat preservation.

【No poison, hazard or secondary pollution】

When putting into use, the product is free from scaling or rust and without the breeding of alga or other microorganisms, or the need of cathodic protection and other protective measures or causes secondary pollution to water or other media.

【Low specific gravity and low weight】

The specific gravity of sand FRP pipe made by fibre winding ranges from 1.65 to 2.0, one fourth of that of steel. But the FRP’s hoop tensile strength is from 180 to 300MPa and its axial tensile strength is from 60 to 150 MPa, similar to alloy steel. Hence, FRP’s specific strength (strength / specific gravity) is two to three times that of the alloy steel. In this way, it can, as per user’s need, be made into pipes that can bear different internal and external pressures. As for piece weight with the same pipe diameter, FRP pipe is only 40% of carbon steel pipe (steel plate reelpipe), approx 29% of the cast iron pipe and approx one-eighth of the prestressed reinforced concrete pipe. Therefore, the FRP pipes greatly facilitate transportation.

【Few interfaces and high installation efficiency】

The length of pipe is generally 6 to 12 meters each pipe (Pipe with special length can be produced as per customer requirements.) As a result of the great length and few interfaces of single pipe, the installation speed is accelerated, thus reducing the fault probability and raising the installation quality of the entire pipeline.      

【Desirable mechanical and insulation property】

Pipe’s tensile strength is lower than that of steel, but higher than that of ductile iron pipe and concrete pipe; its specific strength is approx three times that of the steel pipe, ten times that of the ductile iron pipe and 25 times that of the concrete pipe. Additionally, its thermal conductivity is only 1% of that of the steel pipe. Its desirable  insulation property allows the product to be applicable to areas with concentrated  power transmission and telecommunication lines and areas with more lightning activities.

【Outstanding hydraulic performance and energy consumption】

Because of its smooth internal surface, the sand FRP pipe is more adaptable to the features of large-diameter water pipe (≥φ500mm), that is, low friction coefficient and excellent hydraulic fluid, and the larger the pipe diameter, the more obvious its advantages. Conversely, if the pipe has the same transmission flow, sand FRP pipe with smaller inner diameter can be used as substitute in projects, so that the one-time project investment can be reduced. Compared with other pipes during water transferring, sand FRP pipe can greatly cut down the head loss and save the power and energy of pumps.

【Long service life and high safety】

Sand FRP pipe is of high security coefficient. According to the simulation test table from laboratory, the service life of general sand FRP pipe for water supply and drainage can be over 50 years, twice that of the steel pipe and the concrete pipe. For media with higher corrosivity, its service life is well above that of the steel pipe and so on.

The sand FRP pipe can, as per user’s special purposes, be made into products with various specifications, pressures and stiffness and other special properties through change of design. Therefore, the product can be applied to a wider range.
